Yehey!

Yehey! (http://www.yehey.com) is founded by Alistair Israel. It is a search engine launched in 1997 under company Fiesta Online Corporation (Founders: Alistair Israel, David Quitoriano, Voltaire Trinidad, Jay Alba and Ramon Borja).

It had a feature called “Yehey! fresh“ which is a list of new Philippine-realted or Filipino-made websites that were recently added into its database. It also launched a membership feature where anyone can register and be listed in its members’ directory.

Later on in 1998 when it had accumulated more data, it launched “Daily/Weekly/Monthly top sites” curated feature. In 1998 it also sort of started to transform itself into a portal— it offered local, IT, and entertainment news headlines, as well as a Philippine trivia section (‘Today in history’) and weather forecast.

Yehey! was acquired by iVantage in 2006.
